Niwa Daisuke is a boy raised to be a "kaitou" or "phantom thief", escaping traps, dodging obstacles, and hacking locks was an every day affair for him. While Daisuke was unaware of it, he was being conditioned for the day when he would learn of his family's secret. A male in each generation, at the age of fourteen, if and when he feels a strong attachment or love for someone, he will transform into "Dark Mousy", a man who is infamous for stealing works of art.

Hiwatari Satoshi is a fellow student at Daisuke's school. He is an extremely intelligent boy, so intelligent in fact that he has already graduated from high school and college, he is attending school again in attempt to be more normal. He is also the son of the police chief and has been given a very importent mission. Capture the phantom thief Dark. However, Satoshi harbors deeper secrets. He is actually Hikari Satoshi (Hiwatari being his adopted name) and the last of his family. The Hikari were artists who created very special and powerful pieces of artwork, which are also often the targets of Dark. Satoshi is also the host of Krad, the mirror being of Dark, who is extremely possesive of Satoshi while caring very little for his safety. Go here for more information about Satoshi. Daisuke and Satoshi are two people who by fate should not be friends. They were born to be emenies. But the two rise above their fate instead of allowing it to rule them. The two share a bond that neither could find in anyone else, as both play host to someone other than themselves. Which is why their relationship stands out, at least to me. ♥
